Riders from 8 nations landed in Monte Bondone, Trentino, Italy. Netherland, Austria, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Romania, France, Italy and Chile are the national teams for the first halfpipe event in the World Rookie Tour. With many extra activities in the program, this event offers all the partecipants a unique lifestyle and travel experience, to underline the World Rookie Tour philosophy: snowboarding is not just competing.

The trainings of day 1 inaugurate Monte Bondone halfpipe, built in the last week mainly with artificial snow and with a big effort from the local shaper crew. After the trainings and a few hours of relax in the SPA, the partecipants took part in a walk in the wood with torches together with the world famouse “Black Yeti”. Day1 ended in the snowpark for a night session with a suggestive view on the valley of Trento. During the session a Best Trick Rail Contest was organized and French rising star Boris Mouton resulted the winner.

Shred Down Austrian Masters is a Superpipe competition in Nordpark, an open contest where the “Austrian Halfpipe Champion” is going to be crowned, and the “Shred Down Austrian Masters” Slopestyle competition.

It is a combination of the “Shred Down Austrian Masters” Superpipe competition in Nordpark, Innsbruck; an open contest where the “Austrian Halfpipe Champion” is going to be crowned, and the “Shred Down Austrian Masters” Slopestyle competition in Westendorf, where the best 3 men, best 3 girls and best 3 rookies of every “Austria Cup” tour stop fight it out for the title of the “Austrian Slopestyle Champion”. A legends ranking, the Friday night jib session in Westendorf and the parties on both weekends will round off this unique shred event.

Under a bluebird sky and in a perfectly shaped snowpark in Avoriaz, the 3Star Protest French Fries Rookie Fest ended with an high level finals dominated by swedish ripper Ludvig Billtoft among the male, and by british rising star Becky Menday among the girls.

The event finals were moved in the bottom park “La Chapelle” because of the strong winds in the higher areas of the resort. Ludvig from Sweden won the event with a solid run consisting of fs720, bs540, cab720 and swithc bs540. Gathering riders from 8 nations, this was the first 3star Rookie Fest event ever organized in France, and it was possible thanks to the cooperation with “MySnowboarding” French Snowboard Initiative. The event assigned 12 spots for the end of season Protest World Rookie Finals 2012, to be held in Ischgl, Austria, from 11 to 15 april.

The event also awarded 3 of the top riders with all-inclusive invitation to the upcoming 3Star Halfpipe Rookie Fest in Monte Bondone, Trentino Italy, from 8 to 11 fabruary. This will be the first halfpipe competition in the World Rookie Tour, including also many lifestyle side actitivies such as training with pros, night rail jam, visit to the city of Trento, film premiere and wellness day. Riders from Austria, England, Sweden, Chile, Switzerland, Italy and Nederland are already confirmed for this new event of the WRT. A 4Star Ticket To Ride World Tour event Battery Catfight will be held in Levi, Finland for the second time from 25th of March to 1st of April in 2012.

The event will see 4 star TTR-competitions in Burton Slope Style and Half Pipe as well as competitions in HP, SS and RailJam for rookies, juniors and novice. The total price purse of the event is over 10.000

The qualifications scheduled for day2 at the Protest French Fries Rookie Fest, were cancelled because a strong wind storm attacked Avoriaz.

The event program of day2 was modified and the rookie crew moved the smaller snowpark at the bottom of the resort were a RedBull photo session was organized for all the partecipants.

On sunday 5 february the finals will happen in this smaller snowpark because, according to the forcast, the wind will continue to blow on the higher areas of Avoriaz Resort.

In few hours the finals will happen and the winners will be announced.

The Yeti and the Rookie Squad just arrived in Avoriaz, France, for the 3Star Slopestyle “Protest French Fries Rookie Fest”, one of the new event of the World Rookie Tour 2012. Watch here the video and check the first pictures.

Avoriaz is an amazing resort with an high quality snowpark and sorrounded by beautiful mountains. It is also a highly ecological resort, in fact no car can enter. This brought a little bit extra work for the event crew as they needed to bring their luggage from the parking area to the flats by chariots … such a nice training!

With 52 riders on the starting list, coming from Switzerland, Sweden, France, Spain, Netherland, United Kingdom, Belgium and a Chilean delegation, this event will assign 12 spots for the end of season “Protest World Rookie Finals” where the male and female rookie champions 2012 will be crowned.

The first edition of the 3Star slopestyle Protest French Fries Rookie Fest in Avoriaz is next to start. Many rookie teams from all over Europe are travelling right now to one of the most famouse french resort to challenge for 12 qualification spots for the Protest World Rookie Finals in Ischgl, Austria.

The second edition of Transilvania Rookie Fest saw 21 competitors from Chile, Austria, Italy and Romania shredding the new snowpark area at Arena Platos resort, Romania.

The Austrian team conquered the all male rookie podium. Chilean Yanez Benjamin was the youngest competitor in the second edition of Transilvania Rookie Fest. With 8 years and 5 months, “Benji” hitted hard the kickers and rails prepared weeks in advance for this international competition, the only of its kind in Romania. Four of the competitors won all-inclusive tickets to the upcoming Halfpipe Rookie Fest in Monte Bondone, Trentino, Italy, and the best male and women got an all-inclusive invitation to the Protest World Rookie Finals 2012 in Ischgl, Austria.

The Transilvania Rookie Fest is part of the World Rookie Tour, consisting in several events world wide, from june to april. The “Grand Finale” will take place in Ischgl, Austria where the World Rookie Champion will be awarded.

The Black Yeti proudly announce the first Halfpipe event of the World Rookie Tour. The best European junior teams are awaited in Monte Bondone, Trentino, where is placed one of the very few permanent European super pipe. Don’t miss the opportunity to train and compete in this 3star halfpipe event and join also the 3Star Italian Halfpipe Championships to be held in the same location on February 12th, just one day after the finals of the Halfpipe Rookie Fest 2012.

The 4 days program will include training session with Pros, a 3Star Halfpipe contest, a night session, video premiere, an unforgettable party, a visit to Trento. The event is also connected with the 3Star Halfpipe Italian Championships, held in Monte Bondone on Sunday 12th February and with 3.000€ prize money to grab. Two 3star halfpipe contests in few days to climb the World Rank and compete with the best halfpipe riders of the Alps.

Moreover, to support the crew coming at this first Halfpipe Rookie Fest, the coach of each national team registered with at least 3 riders, will enter the event for free receiving hotel in halfboard, event pass and lift ticket.

The first Junior Jam in Austria will take place at Boarders Playground Westendorf on the 11th of February 2012

Snowboarders are invited to participate in the new training and fun event. The main idea behind the Junior Jam is to support the kids, the youngest of our sport, who want to improve their riding and freestyle skills and at the same time get used to the special contest atmosphere. As so often with outdoor sports it is not only about winning or hitting the podium but more about the learning effects and the experience you share with other riders. Therefore the BP Team has designed a special mini slope style park for the young guns who will find the best conditions for their needs.

The World Rookie Fest is crossing Europe and hitting Romania, with the upcoming Transilvania Rookie Fest in Arena Platos-Sibiu, from Jannuary 27th till 29th.

The 2nd edition of the Transilvania Rookie Fest is the only international youth freestyle snowboard competition hold in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania. Former ISF world champion Martin Freinademetz and owner of Arena Platos has build a slope style park in cooperation with Ninjaz Parkdesign and Romanian snowboard legend Andy Fazakas. The park has a length of 700 meters and includes 4 rails, 6 kickers, and one wall ride.

Transilvania Rookie Fest is part of the TTR snowboard World Tour. The TTR events are ranked with a one to 6 star ranking system. The competitors at this contest will be able to score points for the TTR world ranking list, a list where almost 5.000 snowboarders are ranked worldwide. Although riders can qualify for the WSF world rooky final where only the winners of the previous rooky event sand the top 20 of the world rooky tour ranking will be allowed to compete.

“The World Rookie Fest Tour is growing year after year and we are super happy to have now 2 stops in East Europe. It’s a great opportunity for riders to grow and make the progression upgrading too. Let’s see who will qualify for the big final in Ischgl!!” stated Meinhard Trojer from World Rookie Tour Committee.

The event in Arena Platos will assign 2 all-inclusive tickets for the 4Star Protest World Rookie Finals in Ischgl, Austria, from 11th to 15th of April 2012. In addition all riders on Rookie and Groom podiums, both boys and girls, will be qualified as well for the Protest World Rookie Finals. We are expecting some of the most talented young snowboarders from Europe. Riders from Austria, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Serbia, Slovakia have announced their apperance to battle togehther with the young romanian snowbord scene for prices in a value of 2.000 euros.

ABOUT THE WORLD SNOWBOARD FEDERATION
The World Snowboard Federation (WSF) is the international organization exclusively working to develop the sport of snowboarding at all levels including, competitions, education, Para-Snowboard, girls programs, and snowboard activities for riders at every age. WSF represents a network of National Snowboard Associations who work together at a worldwide level to promote the development of snowboarding. Members find a source of inspiration and support from the WSF for the activities they are conducting within their nation. After Livigno the World Rookie Tour moves west for the 3star slopestyle Protest French Fries Rookie Fest 2012, a slopestyle contest in the beautiful Avoriaz, France. This event will assign 12 spot for the end of season Protest World Rookie Finals in Ischgl, the most important youth snowboard event of 2012.

The program include also a Red Bull photoshooting to offer the partecipants the chance to get a shot from a professional snowboard photographer. Don’t miss your chance to conquer a spot for the Protest World Rookie Finals and save the date: 3.4.5 february, Avoriaz, France.

Norway resulted for the 8th time in a row the best team of the Protest World Rookie Fest in Livigno, standing out as the most influent nation in youth competitive snowboard programs. On the podium also riders from Italy, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Belgium and Poland. The finals of this 3Star TTR slopestyle showcased massive tricks and tons of style in the Mottolino Swatch Snowpark, perfectly shaped despite of the lack of snow and the wind storms of the last weeks: nothing can stop Mottolino resort in Livigno when the Black Yeti squad is awaited.

Norwegian ripper Ole Christian Hagen resulted the best rider of the Protest World Rookie Fest 2012 in Livigno. The other male rookies on the podium were swiss talent Michael Scharer and another norwegian rising star Jonas Veddegjerde. The grom male section was totally dominated by the norwegians who got the top 4 place. Mons Roislan resulted the best under 14: remember this name because the Black Yeti already point his hand on him.

Among the girls Polish Katarzina Rusin won among the rookies while Czech Republic shredder Katerina Vojakova got first among the groms.

Protest World Rookie Fest 2012 in Livigno was the best edition ever, with a lifestyle program of activities which included “Trip to Chile” and “Art of Flight” video premiere, Yoga session, Bob Klein’s workshop “Wanna be a Pro Snowboard?”, and in city contest at the new Cable Park, a wellness day at Aquagranda SPA and, obviously, and unforgettable final party at Miky’s Pub.

The Protest World Rookie Fest 2012 is on fire with tons of action at the Mottolino Swatch Snowpark and in the new Cable Park in Livigno downtown. Day 2 of the event saw the first trainings for the 126 riders in the starting list: they all shred the slopestyle set up including 3 table top and ending in a multi rail obstacles still to be completed. In the afternoom the Protest Cable Session happened in the center of Livigno awarding a 1.000€ prize money to grab in a “cash for trick” contest.

But the Protest World Rookie Fest is not just about competing. The program of day 2 included also the workshop “Wanna be a Snowboard Pro” by Bob Klein from USA. Bob was one of the very first pro ever, today he is in the “snowboard hall of fame” and he works as a professional athlets manager in Octagon, world leading company in this particular market.

Moreover Red Bull pro Jamie Nicholls join the Protest World Rookie Fest in Livigno to shred with the partecipants. Rumors says that he will spend the next 2 days in the Yeti suite!

Today, 16 january 2012, is qualification day: the 126 riders will challenge to get their spot for tomorrow’s finals. Later today we will announce the results of the quali and the nomination of the finalists.

The Protest World Rookie Fest 2012 starts today with 126 riders from 17 nations standing out as the biggest event of the World Rookie Tour ever.

Despite the wind storm damage of last week, the Mottolino Swatch Snowpark looks in perfect shape thanks to the crew of shapers who spent night and day to create the perfect set up for the crowd of rookies just arrived in Livigno. The 8th edition of Protest World Rookie Fest is starting now with the qualification day at the snowpark and the cable-snow contest with a prize money of 1000 € cash free in the afternoon.

Yesterday night the opening cerimony was a blast thanks to the video première of the Red Bull movie “The Art of Flight” and “Rookie Trip to Chile”, a movie filmed in Chile with the best riders of the World Rookie Tour 2011 together with some South America Red Bull riders. “Rookie Trip to Chile” will be soon available free of download on the official rookie website www.worldrookietour.com

ABOUT THE WORLD SNOWBOARD FEDERATION
The World Snowboard Federation (WSF) is the international organisation working exclusively to develop the sport of snowboarding at all levels, including competitions, Para-Snowboard, judge and shapers education and certification, shapers education and certification, and snowboard activities for riders at every age. WSF represents a network of National Snowboard Associations (NSAs) who work together at a worldwide level to promote the development of snowboarding. NSA members can find a source of inspiration and support from the WSF for the activities they are conducting within their nation. The WSF can offer ideas, manuals, and initiatives as a result of unifying under one organization with the same goal: progression of snowboarding from the ground upcreates added value for everybody involved in snowboarding on a national level and can offer ideas, manuals, and . initiatives as a result of unifying under one organization with the same goal: progression of snowboarding at all levels.
In February 2012, the World Snowboard Federation (WSF ) and the TTR will hold the inaugural World Snowboarding Championships, an elite level event that will be held every four years in alternating cities around the world. Official website: www.worldsnowboardfederation.org

Something new will happen during the upcoming Protest World Rookie Fest in Livigno, Italy. Among the many activities on program there will be also the first ever Protest Cable Session, a special snowboard rail contest hosted in the Snow Lab, the new city cable park of Livigno.

The session will take place sunday january the 15th, from 17.30 till 20.30 and it will award 1.000€ cash for tricks in 3 sessions of 1 hour each.

The event is reserved to the Protest World Rookie Fest riders which will have also the opportunity for a dedicated training on saturday 14th january from 5.00 to 7.00 pm.

During the Protest Cable Session, the event crew, guests, media and friends, will be invited to join the Welcome Party at the Benny’s Pub, only 50m from the cable park. There will be enough free drink for everybody!

The first stop of the Burton Park Jam Tour is less than two weeks away and riders can now register to participate. In partnership with Red Bull and supported by MINI, this first stop will take place on the 14th of January in Avoriaz, France, in a one-day Slopestyle Jam Session format. Being a 2 Star TTR event, it will allow riders to earn points for the TTR World Tour and the WSF World Rookie Rank.

All amateur riders under 18 can register through Burton Rider Service, info@burtonparkjamtour.com or 00800 287 866 13 (toll free), or directly in Avoriaz during the training session on the 13th of January. Registered riders will be divided into two groups, Girls & Boys (14 years and younger) and Women & Men.

The 15,00 € registration fee will include the lift-card for the day and the official Burton Park Jam BBQ.
