2017 World Rookie Finals – Slopestyle Qualifications Boys

After several days with challenging weather conditions, the sun shined at its brightest on Saturday’s Slopestyle qualifications for the boys.

87 young shredders hit the Snowpark Kitzsteinhorn to battle it out for the rare and high desired spots in the finals. 2017 World Rookie Finals – Slopestyle Qualifications Girls

On the first contest day of the 2017 World Rookie Finals, the weather played tricks – changing steadily between thick fog which made it impossible to see one’s own hand and wonderful bluebird sky. However, the World Rookie crew and Kitzsteinhorn park team set the perfect conditions for the 27 female Slopestyle riders who fought for their spots in the finals.

12 girls advanced in the Slopestyle qualifications

Japanese super talent Kokomo Murase, who is only 12 years old, lead the girls squat after sending a Backside 360 Mute and a Frontside 720 Frontside Grab over the two kickers and showing off with crazy skills on the rails.

The top twelve females will be able to show their skills on the mountain once more in the Slopestyle finals on Sunday and shred for the title of the World Rookie Champion 2017.

All results from the girls Slopestyle qualifications, can be downloaded here.

2017 Bulgarian Rookie Fest – Report

This year Pamporovo resort hosted the World Rookie Tour for the 4th time! The organization of the event was excellent and the challenge attracted a great interest!

The first places in the most challenging category of the rookie men under 18 years were won by two British representatives – Harry White and Raymond Prentis who demonstrated excellent style and a lot of skills. Very good style and skills demonstrated the Bulgarian young talent Borislav Stoyanov who just starting to race in this age group but managed to impress the judges and ranked in 3rd place.

All the rippers had a great first day on the mountain, with perfect snowpark and weather conditions, showcasing a high level of riding already during the trainings. According to the World Rookie Tour philosophy, the event program included a bunch of activities. The afternoon program of the first day also includes the Night Rail Session with the awaited Cash for Trick contest!!
