Get ready for the Transborder Rookie Fest, the last chance to qualify for the 2024 World Rookie Finals in Prague! On September 21st, the action will unfold at the Debex Skatepark in Debrecen, Hungary, marking the final qualifying event of the World Rookie Tour before the ultimate showdown in the iconic Mystic Skatepark.

Skateboarders from across Europe will compete in this thrilling street skateboarding contest, showcasing their skills in front of official judges and skateboarding experts. With categories for both Rookies (born between 2005 and 2008) and Groms (born from 2009 and up), this is a must-attend event for young talents aspiring to make a mark in the skateboarding world.

The Transborder Rookie Fest promises an unforgettable experience, starting with open training sessions on September 20th. Then, on September 21st, the competition kicks off, where the top 3 riders in each category, both male and female, will earn their spot in the World Rookie Finals. Don’t miss the epic Best Trick contest, where the winner will also secure a ticket to Prague.

This year’s Portugal Rookie Fest is raising the bar by introducing a special Snowboard Experience, in partnership with the Portuguese Winter Sports Federation. For those who want to try something different, this is your chance to switch from the pavement to the snow and dive into the exciting world of winter sports—right on-site at the event. Whether you’re a snowboarder or a skateboarder, this new addition is guaranteed to add a whole new layer of excitement.

Custom Skateboard Art and Stencil Painting

But that’s not all! Creativity is a huge part of skate culture, and this year’s Portugal Rookie Fest is giving you the opportunity to express your artistic side. Join the Stencil painting and skateboard customisation workshop with professional artists and writers, and turn your skateboard into a unique masterpiece. The Finals will gather top skaters from Europe, Asia, and the U.S., creating an unforgettable showcase of skateboarding talent and lifestyle.

Located on Štvanice Island and surrounded by the Vltava River, Mystic Sk8 Park offers a unique and iconic backdrop for the crowning of the 2024 World Rookie Skateboard Champions. The stakes are high, with impressive prizes up for grabs, including a wildcard to the Simple Session 2025 in Talin, invitations to the Mystic Sk8 Cup 2025, and exclusive Red Bull experiences.

This year’s Finals will feature riders from two age categories: the “Rookies” (born between 2005 and 2008) and the younger “Groms” (born in 2009 or later). Spectators can look forward to thrilling contests among the most promising young skateboarders, with the event broadcast live on www.boardriding.com.

The Street competitions in the SKATE SM 2024 tour are part of the World Rookie Tour’s (WRT) World Rookie Ranking qualification series. This provides the top three in Grom and Rookie categories at the Vantaa Street finals with a place at the WRT finals in Prague from September 27-29. Additionally, the best-performing boy and girl will receive free participation and accommodation. Participants can also qualify by accumulating Rookie points from other WRT events, including all Street competitions in the SKATE SM 2024 tour. The World Rookie Ranking competition series aims to offer young skateboarders the chance to travel and experience competitions and skateboarders from other countries.

Get ready for an electrifying skateboarding event as the Moldavian Rookie Tour takes centre stage at the Skatepark Valea Trandafirilor in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, from July 12th to 14th. Now in its second edition, this event promises to be a thrilling showcase of young skateboarding talent, attracting rookies from around the globe.

Registration Details:

To participate in the Moldavian Rookie Fest, all skaters must register exclusively online. On-site registrations will not be accepted. Ensure your spot by completing the registration process by July 11. Email your registration details to office@extremrivulus.ro.

Day 1: July 12 (Friday)

• 09:00 – 18:00 – Athlete reception and participant registration
• 09:00 – 18:00 – Free practice in the park
• 18:00 – 19:00 – Opening ceremony
