X-Jam Rookie Fest 2025: high-level action in Nagano!

The X-Jam Rookie Fest 2025 took place on February 25 at X-Jam Takaifuji, Nagano, Japan. It was an electrifying competition as part of the PSA ASIA Pro Tour. With perfect bluebird conditions and an impeccably shaped X-Jam Snow Park, the event provided the ideal stage for young riders to showcase their skills.

The competition saw 22 boys and 16 girls battling it in an intense slopestyle contest. This year’s event stood out for the high technical level, with many riders stomping Cab 9s and showcasing impressive skills in the rail section, which featured complex jibbing elements.

Meet the champions

The winners of the X-Jam Rookie Fest 2025 have secured their golden ticket to the World Rookie Finals at Kitzsteinhorn – Zell am See Kaprun, Austria (March 23-28, 2025):

🏆 Grom Girl Champion: Jyuri Nakayama (Nagano, Japan) – A local sensation and winner of the 42nd JSBA Nationals, Jyuri rides for ROXY and NOVEMBER Snowboards.

🏆 Grom Boy Champion: Sora Horigome (Kanagawa, Japan) – Known for his incredible aerial skills, Sora is the youngest rider to land a Triple Cork 1440. He also won Aichi Quest ARASHI and is supported by MURASAKI Sports Kawasaki LeFRONT.

🏆 Rookie Girl Champion: Riko Ozahata (Ibaraki, Japan) – A rising star backed by Scimente, Maplas, and DICE, Riko impressed judges with her smooth and stylish runs.

🏆 Rookie Boy Champion: Rinto Mikuni (Nagano, Japan) – A local favourite riding for NOVEMBER Snowboards, Rinto delivered a flawless performance, earning his spot among the world’s top young snowboarders.

On to the World Rookie Snowboard Finals!

With their victories at X-Jam Rookie Fest, these four talented riders have earned a spot at the prestigious World Rookie Snowboard Finals in Austria. The event at Kitzsteinhorn – Zell am See Kaprun will gather the best young snowboarders from around the globe for the ultimate showdown.
