Transborder Rookie Fest 2024: a thrilling show of talent in Debrecen!

The Transborder Rookie Fest 2024 in Debrecen, Hungary, was a huge success! On September 21st, young skateboarders from across Europe gathered at the Debex Skatepark for the final qualifying event before the World Rookie Finals in Prague. The atmosphere was electric, with riders pushing their limits in both the Grom and Rookie categories.

Transborder Rookie FestIn the Grom Men category, the competition was fierce, but in the end, three talented skateboarders claimed the podium. Olivér Olaszy (Hungary) took home the first-place trophy, showcasing impressive skills throughout the event. Close behind him was Marcel Kárpáti (Hungary), who secured second place, and rounding out the podium in third place was Dániel Jarbik (Hungary), delivering a performance full of promise for the future.

We were also excited to see female talent represented, with Maya Rus from Romania making a strong impression among the competitors.

The Rookie Men category was equally exciting, with spectacular performances that had the crowd on their feet. Patric Ilut (Romania) emerged victorious, earning the top spot with flawless execution and creativity. Ákos Koncz-Münich (Hungary) claimed second place with a solid run, and Donát Matolcsy (Hungary) took third, completing a thrilling contest.

All podium finishers in both the Grom and Rookie categories have secured their places in the 2024 World Rookie Finals in Prague. This prestigious event will see the best of the best from across the globe, and we can’t wait to see these young athletes represent Hungary on the world stage.

Adding to the excitement, the event featured an amazing after-session with live music and a grill, giving everyone a chance to unwind and celebrate the incredible talent on display.
