The Black Yeti is counting the days and is getting more and more excited about the end of season event everybody is waiting for: the Völkl World Rookie Finals coming up next week from 7th – 12th April 2015.
Once again, the Tyrolean village of Ischgl is about to turn into the hot spot for the next generation of snowboard pros. In a high level Slopestyle competition, the best young snowboarders from all over the world battle for the title of the 2015 World Rookie Champions, both boys and girls. The exclusive youth event counts as National level comp on the World Snowboard Tour.
For the 10th anniversary of the World Rookie Tour, the organizers set up a stunning lifestyle event. Besides showcasing their skills in the Ischgl Snowpark, the Rookies will enjoy a bunch of entertaining side activities.
The AcroBag session with founder Marc-Andre Tarte promises a hell lot of fun. The Rookies have the chance to progress their tricks on the giant inflatable air bag in a training session where the young rippers will be able to push a new altitude of limits.
In an analogue photography workshop, the creative photographer Gustav Ohlsson will show the Rookies how to make action shots with analogue cameras in the Ischgl Snowpark. Afterwards, the youngsters will learn to develop their own photos in the darkroom. The newbie photographers will even have the chance to win the “best photo award” for the nicest shot.
Every evening, the rookies get entertained with other activities, such as a First Aid Workshop, and the sessions with Gummi Love, Lebenshilfe and the Viva con Aqua crew.
