Emil Ulsletten winner of Air + Style Beijing 2014

The Air + Style Bejing 2014 just went down and the show was unique. 24 selected riders, from all over the world, went to China for the first of the three Air + Style competitions. Looking at the rider list, well-known name are present starting from 4 World Rookie Champions and other 11 riders took part at leat ones in the World Rookie Tour. Moreover, all the three riders on the podium have been part of the World Rookie Tour, a clear example: the winner Emil Ulsletten was World Rookie Champion in 2011.

This event was another confirm that if you want to be a future snowboard star, your first step is to take part in the World Rookie Tour and challenge yourself with the other young riders from all over the world. Keita Inamura, the last World Rookie Champion for the winter season 2013.14, put down some incredible tricks showing his high level of riding. Some other famous name of snowboarding like Stale Sandbech, Torgeir Bergrem, Seppe Smits, Kim Rune Hansen, Mathias Weissenbacher and Tor Lundstrom made their first steps in the snowboard world thanks to the World Rookie Tour events.

Going back to the Air + Style Bejing 2014, Emil Ulsletten (NOR) is the winner of the event. The Norwegian rider prevailed in a world-class Superfinal of the best four riders with a Switch Backside Triple Cork 1440 Mute Grab over Stale Sandbech (NOR), Torgeir Bergrem (NOR) and Maxence Parrot (CAN). With his last run he managed to pull the wining trick on the world ́s biggest artificial snowboard ramp. His victory at the 1st of the 3 A+S tour stops in front of a total of 15,000 thousand spectators pays off with a good chance to qualify for one of the 8 open spots at the A+S in LA and the major share of the 100,000 US-$ prize money.

Just after the event, Emil Ulsletten (NOR) said: „This is the biggest thing that ever happened to me. To be on the top of the Air + Style podium is a dream coming true.”

The 2nd tour stop, the Air + Style Innsbruck – Tirol 2015 presented by Opel on the 16th and 17th of January is going to bring the biggest Band-Line-up in its history. The 5 Live Acts are: CRO the rapper with the panda mask; Bad Things, Shaun White’s Band; Kool Savas, a Hip- Hop legend from Berlin; Modestep, electronic sounds from London and Rakede, the Crossover-specialists.
