The agreement will see IMG Media handle all international media and sponsor agreements for the 2012 World Snowboarding Championships, to be held in Oslo. This will see IMG Media work in partnership with WSC to distribute the championships to broadcasters across the world and to conclude deals with the leading brands in Snowboarding. The Municipality of Oslo has secured the event by providing a financial guarantee.

The World Snowboarding Championships is the pinnacle event of the TTR Snowboarding World Tour (TTR) and the World Snowboard Federation (WSF). Ticket to Ride (TTR) is the world’s largest collaboration of independent freestyle snowboard events working together to create a global rookie-to-professional tour.
The riders start qualifying in January when the TTR World Tour takes off with the six star Burton European Open competition in Laax, Switzerland.
240 snowboarders from 35 nations will compete for a World Champion title in both half pipe and slope style in February 2012. There will also be an opening quarter pipe event in the new ski jumping stadium in Oslo.
New arenas in Tryvann Vinterpark have been approved by the Norwegian government and construction has already begun.
The Arctic Challenge (TAC) staff will be the backbone of the WSC organization; bringing a wealth of experience to the new championships.
Henning Andersen, CEO of the local organizer company Snowboard-VM 2012 AS, said: “IMG has decades of experience working with the best sporting events in the world. IMG is the optimal partner to make our vision come true. We want to showcase snowboarding as it’s never been seen before by concentrating on the content of the event, and IMG are best placed to facilitate that for us.”
Adam Kelly, Marketing Director, IMG Media said: “We believe this is a key sport in helping broadcasters and brands to connect with the key youth demographic. There is no finer example of this high quality content than the TTR World Tour and the World Snowboarding Championships in Oslo 2012. We are extremely excited by the prospects of this partnership.”
